Up until last year, most people had not heard of Prisma Labs, the maker of Lensa AI, a photo-editing app which shot to #1 on the APP store and generated more than $8M dollars in less than a week because of an API and AI.

According to their Media Kit:

At Prisma Labs, we believe that photo and video editing should be simple and fun. Our technologies allow anyone with no professional experience or editing skills to get great results in a matter of seconds.

The company was founded in 2016 with the launch of the Prisma app that has quickly become one of the most downloaded apps in the world and won the "App of the Year" award from both AppStore and GooglePlay. The second app, Lensa, was launched in late 2018 and now also has millions of users worldwide.

How did Lensa AI create this technology? Well that's exactly what I want to talk about. Lensa AI did not create the technology, they simply leveraged the Generative AI tech from another company.

Generative artificial intelligence or Generative AI is a type of AI system capable of generating text, images, or other media in response to prompts. Examples of this are OpenAI’s DALL-E and ChatGPT, as well as Midjourney and Stable Diffusion.

Lensa AI leveraged Stable Diffusion to create its avatars. The text-to-image model is open-source, meaning Lensa was able to use it completely for free and that means you can too. You can start a similar business just by using the free open-source code from Stable Diffusion.

I personally don’t know how to code, so I am still clueless when it comes to how to use this tech, but thankfully, there are No-Code tools you can use to duplicate what Lensa AI has done and if you’re interested you can get your No-Code MBA in 30 days, where you learn by doing.

🎈No-Code API Connector: Make

My No-Code tool of choice is Make.com, formerly known as Integromat. Make is easier for the visual No-coder. You can get a 1-month Pro Plan for free here.

Simply log into Make and create simple connections to build your own Lensa-like app. These connections are made through something called an Application Programming Interface (API). An API is a way for two or more computer programs to communicate with each other.

In my super easy example below, you can use Make.com to make a connection with Open AI DALL-E to create Lensa-like images. In fact there are thousands of API connections you can make. You can literally connect anything with just a few clicks that will not only make you more productive, but create a revenue stream for you.
